  Waiting times are ridiculous and you are give no idea of how long you might have to wait. On my first visit I waited 5 hours only to discover that there had been no emergency doctors on duty for the previous 2 hours. A man in a wheelchair, in pain, had waited six hours that day and six hours the day before.

  I am not local in Spain. My grandfather suddenly felt very bad during the night and we called the ambulance who took us to this hospital.

  I have just given my consent for an operation but just as quickly, reversed it in fear of the surgeon who might perform it and instead opted to go privately even though the cost could run into thousands - simply not worth the risk.

  Atrocious treatment from receptionists to nurses and doctors in the emergency department. Rude, aggressive and in the case of one doctor, downright sadistic to such an extent that I'm considering legal action - certainly there will be a formal complaint and investigation instigated. The only saving grace, a traumatologist called Doctor Franco who was professional, respectful and courteous and above all, knew what she was doing.

  I attended A & E in July last year with an eye infection and was seen within an hour by an eye specialist. Whilst his bedside manner was not quite what I expected - he was severe and told me that I had a large corneal ulcer and could lose my eye - over the next 6 months I saw other doctors, including the one I see most, Dr Martinez. They were all, and she still is, fantastic, encouraging and supportive. (On one appointment all of the doctors on duty came in to see me and congratulate my recovery - but it was down to them and their treatment). For weeks I was going 2 and 3 times each week. I did not lose my eye, although vision is impaired, and I still go on a 3 monthly basis. Throughout the 6 months I have been an all sorts of medication and the pharmacy has often phoned for me to collect prescriptions. Now I am having drops which are made from my own blood which is taken every 6 weeks. I have seen the first doctor I saw during that time and questioned him about our first meeting - what he said frightened me - but he told me he will always speak frankly, and at that stage, it was a definite possibility - but he was smiling so he wasn't always severe!He did have a gentler side! I have nothing but praise for ALL the staff in that department and the booking in receptionists.They all speak English, thank goodness - I am having Spanish lessons but we have only been here 7 months They are all brilliant. I cannot praise them enough.

  Give this place a wide berth - only for the desperate! And that's how you will be regarded unless you are very lucky. Read the reviews posted by Spanish people and see how many have awarded just one star. It really is the pits.

  We met the worse doctor at the emergency he was so sleepy he cold not talk. He was tired and did not look at our faces. iam not sure he was in the right condition to take care of ill people!!!!!!!?????? The rooms were cold , people were freezing. All the workes seamed angry and not nice. Now my son still ill so Iam not sure that stupid doctors opinion was right .we waited 50 minutes. That is long for a privat hospital. I waited one mintue i a privat hospital in Turkey and Denmark

  I do recommend that if you have a choice, go elsewhere rather than subject yourself to the risk of degrading and humiliating treatment, not to mention the gamble you could be taking with your health; patients are expected to be unquestioning, submissive and passive - that also applies to one's relationship with the administration.

  THE WORST HOSPITAL EVER!!! RUDE, NOT CLEVER AND NOT HELPFUL STAFF AT ALL starting from ambulance team, reception desk, ALL nurses! Nobody works, just walk around pretending they do something important. Wasted 4 hours in the hospital WAITING. Level of intelligence is very low. NO KNOWLEDGE OF ENGLISH (only couple of workers can speak). My suggestion is better to go to private clinics and pay a bit more but receive MUCH BETTER service, quick and respectful.
